Its unique porous structure supports both nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria, allowing it to simultaneously remove ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. Unlike standard biomedia that only support surface bacteria, Tidal Matrix provides deep internal macropores that enable anaerobic zones for nitrate reduction. This results in more complete and efficient biological filtration, making it ideal for both freshwater and marine aquariums.
