Introduction

Seachem PhosGuard is a high-performance chemical filtration media designed to remove phosphate (PO₄) and silicate (SiO₂) from both freshwater and saltwater aquariums. Excess phosphate and silicate can lead to algae blooms, cloudy water, and negatively impact the health of aquatic life. PhosGuard’s unique bead-shaped structure ensures fast, efficient removal, helping maintain crystal-clear water and a healthy aquarium environment.

Usage

• Placement: Use in canister filters, media reactors, hang-on-back filters, or media bags placed in high-flow areas.

• Dosage:

  • Saltwater: 85 mL per 200 liters (50 gallons).

  • Freshwater: 85 mL per 400 liters (100 gallons).

• Duration: Can start reducing phosphates within hours; leave in filter up to 4 days or until desired levels are reached.

• Replacement: Replace when phosphate or silicate levels stop decreasing. Lifespan varies based on tank load.

• Rinse Before Use: Rinse in freshwater to remove dust and improve water flow.

Available Sizes

• 250 mL: Small tanks or short-term use.

• 500 mL: Standard size for moderate phosphate loads.

• 1 Liter: Large aquariums or heavy phosphate loads.

• 2 Liters & 4 Liters: Bulk options for very large tanks or multiple setups.
