Unlike traditional granular carbons, MatrixCarbon is formed into uniform spherical beads, preventing packing and channeling while allowing maximum water flow and contact time. Its high-density macroporous structure provides exceptional binding capacity, delivering faster adsorption, longer service life, and up to twice the performance of other high-grade activated carbons. With an extremely low ash content, MatrixCarbon has virtually no impact on pH and will not raise pH above 7.0 even in distilled water. It also features ultra-low leachable phosphate levels, making it ideal for sensitive reef systems.
