Introduction

Seachem CupriSorb is a narrow-spectrum, synthetic adsorbent filter media specifically engineered to remove copper and heavy metals from both freshwater and marine aquariums. It is a powerful copper-specific chelating resin capable of extracting all forms of copper, including free, ionic, and chelated copper used in medications. CupriSorb remains effective until it turns a deep blue-black color, providing a clear visual indicator of exhaustion. Unlike disposable media, it can be regenerated repeatedly, offering long-term value. When used continuously, CupriSorb™ will gradually remove even precipitated copper, making it possible to safely maintain invertebrates in aquariums that were previously heavily treated with copper-based medications.
