Introduction

Fritz Parashield is a broad-spectrum water treatment designed to combat and prevent external parasites and skin infections in both freshwater and marine fish. This powerful, fast-acting solution effectively targets common parasites such as Ich, Costia, Trichodina, and Chilodonella. Ideal for use in hospital or quarantine tanks, Parashield helps reduce stress and supports fish recovery in a safe, efficient, and aquarium-friendly way.

Directions & Dosage

• Shake Well Before Use

Standard Dosage:

• Add 4 drops per gallon, or 5 mL (1 tsp) per 25 gallons of water.

For Reef Tanks or Invertebrate-Safe Treatment:

• Use two half-doses daily: 2 drops per gallon or 5 mL per 50 gallons, spaced 12 hours apart.

Treatment Schedule:

• Day 1: Add full dose.

• Day 2: No dose or water change.

• Day 3: Repeat dose.

• Day 4: No dose.

• Day 5: Final dose.

• Day 6: Optional 25% water change.

• Repeat cycle if symptoms persist after five days.

Usage Tips:

• Raise water temperature above 80°F to improve effectiveness.

• Remove activated carbon from filters during treatment.

• Maintain good water circulation or aeration.

• Note: May cause foaming in protein skimmers—temporarily disable skimmer if needed.

• UV sterilizers can remain on.

• Complete the entire course of treatment for best results.

Compatibility & Safety

• Can be used alongside other medications and Fritz products.

• Safe for invertebrates, plants, and reef environments when used correctly.

• If overdosed or fish show signs of distress, perform an immediate large water change.

• Do not perform water changes during treatment unless ammonia/nitrite levels rise—use Fritz A.C.C.R. or Fritz Complete if needed.
