Turn off and unplug the FX4 or FX2 filter.
Remove the motor unit to access the impeller.
Carefully remove the old shaft and bushings.
Install the new ceramic shaft along with the rubber bushings.
Reassemble the motor unit and restart the filter.
Check for smooth, quiet operation.
Replace the impeller shaft annually or if you notice wear, unusual noise, or reduced water flow.
Always use genuine Fluval parts to maintain warranty and ensure optimal performance.
Consider replacing the full impeller assembly if the blades or magnet show significant wear.
Use aquarium-safe silicone lubricant to prolong bushing life and reduce friction.
